Relax on your short drive by motor coach into cosmopolitan Athens. Pass the yacht harbor of Zea and along Mikrolimanon’s waterfront lined with inviting al fresco restaurants. Arrive at the Acropolis and marvel at the breathtaking view of the Parthenon perched up above. Climb up the pathway and steps leading through the massive Propylaia onto the rock of the Acropolis itself. Relive the “glory that was Greece” as you view the Parthenon, the delicate temple of the Wingless Victory and the Erechteion. Enjoy some Greek cuisine for lunch before your journey to Cape Sounion, along the beautiful coast of Athens. Enjoy magnificent panoramic views over the Saronic Gulf and the Cyclades from the famous Temple of Poseidon. Have a guided tour of this beautiful historical site where Athenians worshipped Poseidon and Athena as far back as the Geometric period.

SPECIAL NOTES
Visits to the Acropolis and Sounion include walking uphill on rough, and sometimes slippery, terrain. Comfortable shoes, a hat, water and sunscreen are recommended. No food, drinks, large bags/backpacks are allowed into the Acropolis or Museums. Only water in a clear bottle is permissible. Please note the Acropolis Museum is in the process of relocation and a full visit may not be possible.  The Acropolis is under repair for preservation purposes. There will be some free time at the bottom of the Acropolis and Sounion for souvenir shopping
