Athens and Acropolis

Experience the highlights of Athens with a panoramic tour of the city, its ancient monuments, small Byzantine churches, old taverns and shops

Tour Itinerary
Take a short drive by motor coach into cosmopolitan Athens. Pass the yacht harbor of Zea and Mikrolimanon’s waterfront lined with inviting al fresco seafood restaurants. Arrive at the Acropolis for a breathtaking view of antiquity as you look upwards towards the marvelous structure of the Parthenon. Climb up the pathway and steps leading through the massive Propylaia onto the rock of the Acropolis itself. Begin to relive the ‘glory that was Greece’ as you walk over this masterpiece. View the Parthenon, the delicate temple of the Wingless Victory and the Erectheion. Have your guide walk you approximately 20 minutes to Plaka. Enjoy some free time exploring its back streets for souvenirs or maybe stop for a beverage in one of its many taverns

NOTE: For Christian travellers a visit to the nearby Mars´ Hill (Areopagus) (Acts 17:22) where the Apostle Paul delivered his soul-stirring sermon to the giants of philosophy, logic and learning, can be  included to the tour, without extra charge

Pick up from/to hotel or Port. Professional English speaking tour guide, entrance fees air-conditioned non-smoking vehicles. Lunch (only on full day tours).

SPECIAL NOTES
The visit to the Acropolis includes walking uphill on rough, and sometimes slippery, terrain. Comfortable shoes, a hat, water and sunscreen are recommended. No food, drinks, large bags/backpacks are allowed into the Acropolis or Museums. Only water in a clear bottle is permissible. Please note the Acropolis Museum is in the process of relocation and a full visit may not be possible. The Acropolis is currently under repair for preservation purposes.
