Explore Rhodes´s medieval old town on a walking tour that visits the Palace of the Grandmasters. Then drive to Mt. Philerimos, site of a historic church and chapel built over a Greek temple and early Christian catacombs.

Tour Itinerary

Mt. Philerimos - This plateau rising 1,000-feet above the sea offers superb views of the surrounding valleys, Mt. Philerimos is crowned by the Church of Our Lady, which was built on the ancient Greek temple dedicated to the goddess Athena and over early Christian catacombs. The unique barrel-vaulted Chapel of St. George dates from the 15th century.

Rhodes Old Town - Your guided walking tour of the old, walled medieval city follows the stone paved streets and the famous Knight´s road. The road has been in existence since 408 B.C., a visual testimony of Rhodes´ long history.

Palace of the Grand Masters - Built in the 14th century to dominate the harbor and town, this impressive palace is still imposing in its majesty. Destroyed in 1856, the palace was rebuilt in 1930. The grand monumental marble staircase takes you to the upper floor and to the unrivaled collection of ancient mosaics from the neighboring island of Kos.

Flash photography is not permitted in the Palace of the Grand Masters. The tour involves some walking over uneven ground. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Passengers with physical limitations are requested to consider this.
